Every six weeks or so, the two plan a night out, usually in Center City or on the Main Line—wine-tasting, manis and pedis, a photo-taking workshop, author readings—to help moms recharge. The Mommy Connection

"Yearning for some grown-up time, Philadelphia mothers Alyson Schwartz and Magen Kauffman started a moms group called Time Out! (time-out-moms.com). 'We moms often put our own needs last,' says Kauffman. 'But Time Out! does the planning, making it easier to let go of the guilt of doing something for yourself.' Through events such as author readings, restaurant tastings, and spa nights, the group encourages mothers to nuture themselves."
